The best Breville Bambino Plus bottomless portafilter among these picks is the KNODOS, because its compatibility details name the Bambino Plus and its 18–21g basket is included. If you're considering another option, check whether its compatibility covers your exact machine, since some name only the Bambino or other Breville models.
A bottomless portafilter leaves the underside open so you can observe espresso flow as a shot pulls. That view can help you spot channeling or uneven flow, but it won't correct grind, distribution or tamping on its own.

How we chose a Breville Bambino Plus bottomless portafilter
The strongest choices clearly identify a compatible machine and explain what comes with the portafilter. We compared the stated fit, included basket or puck screen, and details that affect everyday handling.
We gave the highest score to the Normcore and LILQ options based on the stated features and basket details. KNODOS ranks next because it explicitly names the Bambino Plus and includes an 18–21g basket, which makes its fit easier to confirm for this search.
Compatibility wording deserves close attention. A portafilter that names the Bambino may not explicitly name the Bambino Plus, and WhaleSiper says its model isn't compatible with the Plus without modification.

The best bottomless portafilters for the Breville Bambino Plus
These five picks offer different combinations of stated compatibility, basket sizes, handle materials and included accessories. Start with the exact machine fit, then choose the basket and handle details that suit your routine.
Normcore 54mm Bottomless Portafilter: Best for a smooth aluminum handle
- 54mm fit for Breville machines
- Anodized aluminum handle
- 18g filter basket included
The 18g basket and anodized aluminum handle make this a straightforward option for Bambino Plus owners who want to watch the espresso flow. Confirm the exact machine fit before ordering.
Pros
- 18g basket included
- Anodized aluminum handle
- Open design allows extraction to be observed
Cons
- Bambino Plus is not named in the compatibility details
The Normcore combines an 18g filter basket with an anodized aluminum handle. Its open underside lets you watch extraction, which can help you notice uneven flow as you adjust puck preparation.
The brand describes the handle as manually lathed, light and smooth to hold. The product details identify a 54mm fit for Breville machines, but the named compatibility examples don't specifically include the Bambino Plus.
That difference matters when you're shopping for a machine-specific part. Check that the seller confirms your exact Bambino Plus model before ordering, especially if you want to avoid a fit issue at the group head.
The open design accepts baskets without a fixed bottom, according to the product description. That can be useful if you later want to compare basket options, though this purchase includes an 18g basket.
Choose it if you want an anodized aluminum handle and an 18g basket. Verify Bambino Plus fit first, since the stated compatibility doesn't name it separately.
54mm Naked Bottomless Portafilter Compatible with Breville: Best for a stated 18–20g basket
- Compatible with Breville Bambino
- 18–20g basket included
- Handle is designed not to unscrew
This 54mm portafilter names the Breville Bambino as compatible and includes an 18–20g basket. Its wooden handle needs to stay dry and should not go in the dishwasher.
Pros
- 18–20g basket included
- Bambino compatibility stated
- Handle is designed to stay attached
Cons
- Bambino Plus is not named separately in the compatibility details
- Wood handle needs dry care
LILQ names the Breville Bambino as compatible and includes an 18–20g basket for double shots. The handle is designed to stay attached to the portafilter head rather than unscrew during use.
The included basket's dose range gives you room to adjust for your beans and grind. Leave enough headspace for your machine, since the right dose depends on the basket and puck setup.
The handle is wood, so keep it dry when you're not brewing and don't put it in the dishwasher. LILQ also advises warming and moistening the silicone ring or gasket with a gentle flush if the portafilter feels tight.
Its compatibility details name the Bambino, but not the Bambino Plus specifically. If you're buying for the Plus, confirm that distinction before choosing this option.
Pick it if the stated Bambino compatibility and 18–20g basket fit your needs, and verify Plus compatibility with the seller first.
KNODOS Bottomless Portafilter 54mm for Breville: Best for explicit Bambino Plus fit
- Bambino Plus compatibility stated
- 18–21g double-shot basket included
- Walnut handle
KNODOS explicitly names the Bambino Plus among its compatible machines and includes an 18–21g basket. It also gives you an open view of espresso flow for checking preparation.
Pros
- Bambino Plus fit stated
- 18–21g basket included
- Walnut handle
Cons
- Don't overfill the basket, since that can stop the portafilter from locking
KNODOS is the most direct match for this search because its compatibility details explicitly name the Bambino Plus. It comes with an 18–21g double-shot basket and a walnut handle.
The open head makes extraction visible, which can help you look for channeling or uneven tamping. The basket's upper dose limit matters: KNODOS cautions against overfilling because that can prevent the portafilter from locking into the group head.
KNODOS says the walnut handle is made from solid natural walnut and describes the portafilter as having stainless steel components. Its compatibility details also name several other 54mm Breville machines, including the Bambino and Barista models.
This pick gives you clear Plus compatibility and a relatively broad stated basket range. Pay attention to dose and puck headspace so the portafilter can lock in properly.
Choose KNODOS if you want the clearest stated Bambino Plus fit and an 18–21g basket.
stochastic box 54 mm Bottomless Portafilter Compatible: Best for a portafilter with puck screen
- Bambino BES450 compatibility stated
- Puck screen included
- Rosewood handle
This option names the Bambino BES450 and includes a puck screen alongside the portafilter. Its rosewood handle should stay dry and out of the dishwasher.
Pros
- Puck screen included
- Bambino BES450 compatibility stated
- Rosewood handle
Cons
- Bambino Plus is not named separately in the compatibility details
The stochastic box portafilter names the Bambino BES450 among its compatible machines and includes a puck screen. The screen is 53mm, while the portafilter is described as a 54mm model.
The open bottom lets you watch espresso flow and look for signs that your grind, distribution or tamp may need adjustment. The included screen is described as helping reduce grounds sticking to the shower screen and supporting more even water flow.
Its rosewood handle is a natural material, so keep it dry when not in use and out of the dishwasher. The compatibility details name the Bambino BES450, but don't separately name the Bambino Plus.
Consider this one if the puck screen matters to you, after confirming the fit for your exact machine. For more ways to tailor the machine, see our guide to best Breville Bambino upgrades.
WhaleSiper Bottomless Portafilter 54mm Compatible with Breville: Best for a fit only if you have a listed model
- Stainless steel head
- Puck screen included
- Compatibility limited to named Breville models and Solis
WhaleSiper includes a puck screen and stainless steel basket, but it specifically says it is not compatible with the Bambino Plus without modification. It isn't a direct-fit choice for this roundup's target machine.
Pros
- Puck screen included
- Stainless steel head and basket
- Polymer handle
Cons
- Not compatible with the Bambino Plus without modification
WhaleSiper is the least suitable direct-fit option here because it specifically says it doesn't fit the Bambino Plus without modification. Its stated compatibility covers Breville Barista BES870 and BES880 models, plus Solis 54mm portafilters.
The package includes a puck screen and a 304 stainless steel double-shot basket. The bottomless design provides a view of extraction, while the polymer handle is described as ergonomic.
Those features may appeal if you own one of the listed machines, but they don't overcome the compatibility warning for a Bambino Plus. Don't buy it for this machine unless the seller confirms a compatible version that doesn't require modification.
For Bambino Plus owners, choose one of the options that names the Plus or get fit confirmation first. If you're comparing parts beyond portafilters, see best Breville Bambino Plus replacement parts.
What should you check before buying a bottomless portafilter?
Check the machine compatibility, basket size and handle care before buying. A 54mm label alone doesn't confirm that a particular portafilter locks into your Bambino Plus.
KNODOS explicitly names the Bambino Plus. LILQ and stochastic box name the Bambino or Bambino BES450, while the Normcore details describe a 54mm fit for Breville machines without naming the Plus directly.
Basket capacity is another practical detail. The included options range from 18g to 21g, so use a dose that leaves the headspace your machine and basket need.
Wood handles need different care from aluminum. LILQ and stochastic box say to keep their wooden handles dry and avoid the dishwasher.
Can a bottomless portafilter improve espresso?
A bottomless portafilter can make extraction behavior easier to observe, but it doesn't improve a shot by itself. The open underside shows the flow, giving you clues about grind, puck distribution and tamping.
That visual feedback can be useful while you change one preparation step at a time. If espresso sprays or flows unevenly, adjust your preparation rather than assuming the portafilter is defective.

Is a Bambino Plus portafilter the same as a Barista Pro portafilter?
Some 54mm portafilters are described as fitting both machines, but compatibility varies by model. If you're checking another diameter, see our 56mm bottomless portafilter fit guide.
Check the exact machine names before buying instead of relying only on the diameter.
KNODOS lists the Bambino Plus and Barista Pro in its compatibility details. WhaleSiper names certain Barista models but excludes the Bambino Plus without modification.
If you're shopping for the Pro, use our guide to the best Breville Barista Pro bottomless portafilter to compare options made for that machine.
Which bottomless portafilter should you choose for the Bambino Plus?
Choose KNODOS when you want the clearest stated Bambino Plus compatibility and an included 18–21g basket. Consider Normcore for its aluminum handle, or LILQ for its stated 18–20g basket, after confirming each fits your exact machine.
Treat WhaleSiper as a fit for its named Barista and Solis machines, not as a direct-fit Bambino Plus option. For a wider accessory list, see best Breville Bambino Plus accessories.
Our score weighs specs, features and buyer feedback against what you're shopping for.
